Coronavirus Precautions

To ease your mind a bit about some precautions we are taking with Covid-19. We always sanitize our brushes in between each client, sanitize our hands, and avoid double dipping in any cream or liquid based products, using disposable mascara wands, depotting product as needed, etc. So, while we always practice these sanitary guidelines, we will be sure during this time to be even more diligent.
In addition, I have asked all of our team members to let me know if they are feeling even a bit under the weather and will be having other artists on our team fill in if needed. The artist on site will be wearing a mask for the duration of the appointment, as long as they are able to do so. We ask that if you are receiving services, that you wear a mask when possible, during hair and for most of the makeup application. Our artists have all been sanitation certified, and most have recently taken and passed the Barbicide course on Covid-19 specifically.
We ask that no more than 10 people be in the room where services are being performed, and that everyone keep social distancing guidelines in mind as much as possible.
Our artists may need to start a bit earlier than usual to allot extra time for additional sanitation of work areas, or outdoor breaks from wearing the mask.
If you have any questions, please let me know via the Contact page.

As of 6/20/21, mask mandates have been lifted. If you would still like to request your artists wear a mask, please message us ahead of time.

Hair Extensions – Savannah Hair Stylist

We frequently are asked our advice when it comes to hair extensions. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not provide or directly sell hair extensions. However, here is a link to purchase our recommended extensions.

We do offer clip in hair extension placement and styling for your big day. If you think you might like them, I have a few recommendations before you shop.
We recommend clip-in extensions, as we can place them where needed for the exact style you’d like, and hide them well. Halo style extensions are not as secure, don’t blend with your natural hair as easily, and sometimes, depending on the hairstyle you choose, can be difficult to hide.
Please ensure that you purchase 100% human hair. We cannot use heat tools on synthetic hair. Even if the package says human hair, it may be a blend of only 10-30% human hair, and the rest, synthetic plastic fibers, which could melt when used with a curling iron. Look for packages that say can be used with heat tools.
Also be sure that they have not been chemically straightened. Sometimes even if it is 100% human hair, they are originally curly or kinky strands that they chemically straighten. These will not hold any curl.
Most packages of clip-in extensions will come with a variety of widths so that they can be placed accordingly. When determining the length to purchase, measure your longest hair strands from the base of your neck down to the ends of your hair. We recommend purchasing extensions no more than 5″ longer than your hair. Any longer than that will be difficult to blend.
Some hair extensions have a wax or other similar product coating on the hair to help it look shiny and new in the packaging. Be sure to wash your hair extensions to remove this coating prior to use. Washing them first will help the hair to look more natural, blend in with your hair more seamlessly and also help them to hold curl well. You can use your regular shampoo and conditioner to wash them. Then gently comb them with a wide toothed comb and lay flat on a towel to dry.
There isn’t a specific brand that we recommend. but as long as you make sure whichever ones you’re going to buy are 100% human hair and not chemically straightened you should be fine!
Happy hair shopping!

Edgy Styled Shoot – Savannah Makeup and Hair

We love being a part of fun styled photo shoots. Our very own, gorgeous, hair and makeup artist, Lauren, recently modeled a beautiful Anya Dionne Design dress for a fierce and edgy shoot with the creative and talented gals of Ivory & Beau, and one of our favorite Savannah photographers, Daniel Eastwood. The Savannah wedding industry is jam packed with super talented folks and we are so glad to be a part of it all. Sneak peeks below, be on the look out for more.

Brand Photoshoot – Savannah Makeup and Hair

We recently did a photo shoot with Daniel Eastwood Photography to update our head shots. We had a blast walking around historic downtown Savannah, laughing, posing, and being silly. Take a peek, and click on any image to enlarge.
