Michelle Royal (Berman) is a former model who has appeared on Project Runway, John Frieda hair ads in Instyle Magazine, and worked for several top designers including Rachel Roy, Elie Tahari, Catherine Malandrino and more. During her time as a model, she worked with several photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists and other fashion professionals. She is a knowledgeable source of the makeup, fashion, events, and entertainment worlds. She was a makeup artist and events & training coordinator for Sephora in Times Square, NYC for many years, where she was extensively trained on a variety of makeup and hair-care brands and application techniques, including airbrush and special effects. Michelle also worked as a makeup artist for NARS Cosmetics and was honored while working for NARS to do makeup for actress, Molly Ringwald.
Michelle has taught makeup application and hair styling lessons for John Casablanca’s Modeling Centers and for hundreds of clients independently as well as through Sephora and NARS. Michelle has done hair & makeup for Bravo’s TV shows, as well as over 300 weddings, numerous photo shoots, runway shows, proms and other events. Her makeup artistry was featured on the cover of The Vow magazine as well as hair and makeup artistry featured throughout the pages of several issues of Savannah Weddings Magazine, Savannah Soiree and several wedding blogs and online publications. She has all the tools and skills to bring out your best features for your special occasion, photo shoot, or wedding. She is currently in charge of all bookings and serves the Colorado Springs, CO area as a Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist.
Lauren has lived in the Savannah, Ga area for over 26 years. Her passion for makeup artistry and hair styling began at a young age during her 12 years as a dancer and dance instructor. She quickly learned proper techniques for stage makeup and took advantage of every opportunity she had to learn from the artists around her. Lauren completed makeup artistry and hair styling classes to fine tune her skills in 2013 and has been working as a professional makeup artist and hair stylist going on five years. She continues to develop her skills through training and workshops with top industry professionals to bring you the latest in makeup and hair trends and techniques. Lauren has done hair and makeup for countless weddings but has also had numerous clients for proms, photo shoots, styled shoots, as well as being the lead makeup and hair artist for several photography workshops.
Lauren’s hair and makeup artistry has been featured in several publications including A Low Country Wedding Magazine, The Knot, and Savannah Weddings Magazine. She has also worked with Jordan Engle of OG Photography and Wowmi out of Los Angeles, CA. Her work has also been featured on several wedding blogs such as Style Me Pretty, Wedding Sparrow, Ruffled Blog, and was most recently the makeup and hair artist for a styled shoot out of South Carolina that was named one of the top styled shoots of 2017 by Magnolia Rouge! Lauren is very passionate about her work and loves helping anyone and everyone to look and feel their very best. She a wonderful asset to our team.
Emily is a Savannah-based makeup artist of five years with experience in bridal, editorial and film. Her passion for makeup artistry started in her teen years when she would practice with whatever makeup she could get her hands on! Over the years, her passion and knowledge of makeup grew and in 2013 she was selected for a position at Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, where she perfected her skills. In addition, Emily has freelanced since 2012 with local artists. She attends make-up conferences to stay on top of the newest trends, latest products, and the leading techniques. She is very adaptive in her artistry style which allows her to accommodate individual requests for a variety of events. She has passion and a sense of humor that helps set her clients at ease and she strives to ensure her clients have a memorable experience.
Julie comes to us from the Philadelphia area with 18 years experience as a hairstylist. Her love of doing hair began as a child with dolls, then onto some willing friends, and eventually cosmetology school. Over the years she has participated in many classes, New York City hair shows and Florida seminars to keep her training current. In addition to working regularly in the salon, she has done hair for weddings and special events and worked backstage for a number of stage productions. Julie has made it a point to learn quite a few tricks for updos, and has a special passion for braided looks. She is very happy to be here in the beautiful Savannah area doing what she loves!
Shea’s love for makeup began when she was a little girl and only grew as she got older. She dedicated 10 months to an intensive training program for makeup artistry and hair styling and worked along side seasoned professionals to fine tune her skills. She has been a freelance hair and makeup artist since 2012 and also was an artist’s manager for Sephora. She has experience in a variety of styles for photo shoots, events and more. Her work has been featured with several photographers in pinup and boudoir shoots. She has a wide range of skills and can achieve natural looks for engagement shoots and weddings or more glamourous and bold looks for photo shoots and more. We are so excited to have her on the team.
Lauren Grant is a Professional Makeup Artist and licenced Esthetician. Specializing in beauty, airbrush makeup and skincare with over 10 years experience in the industry. In 2007 she successfully competed her associates in Esthetics, and began to work in several high end spas in the Savannah area. She has since completed countless hours in additional training with Babor, GM Collins, and Youngblood Cosmetics. Her passion for knowledge in this ever-changing beauty industry ensures that she stays informed with the latest technologies and ingredients in skincare, which she loves to share with clients.

Christine has been a licensed Esthetician for 13 years. Her passion for the beauty industry started as a young child as her mother owned and operated makeup schools for 20 years. Christine shared her expertise as an instructor for several years and now specializes in event makeup, airbrush, and camouflage artistry. She has a work background as an artist for MAC, Bobbi Brown, Jane Iredale and more. Being a native to sunny Florida, she really knows how to work with our hot humid weather and can guarantee the most beautiful hair and makeup even on the hottest days. Christine travels several times a year all over the country to further her education and make sure she is always on top of her game.
Monica joins us from Illinois. Her passion for hair styling began as a young girl, practicing on her younger sister. After high school, she graduated in 1992 from Lake Land College in Mattoon with a degree in Cosmetology. She continues her education by regularly attending seminars, hands-on classes and participating in many hair shows throughout the country. After 25 years in the industry, she specializes in color and event hair styling. On top of being a member of the Royal Makeup & Hair team, she is also a full time hair stylist with an extensive clientele at Merle Norman in Richmond Hill, GA.
Sarah is a Florida native that has recently relocated to Savannah with her family. She started in the beauty industry in 2006, working in Esthetics. She quickly found a passion for making people feel beautiful. Deciding to further her education, she attended the Aveda Institute in 2009 to gain her Master Cosmetologist license. While working at a Miami Beach resort, she became familiar with an international clientele. Her expertise is in various hair styling techniques and she loves working with destination brides. Sarah is very excited to bring her skills to Savannah and looking forward to always learning new ones.
Johanna is a licensed hair and makeup artist with a passion for the beauty industry. Her enthusiasm for special event styling and makeup began as a young girl. Always being recruited for parties, proms, dances, and weddings, she decided to follow her passion and go to cosmetology school where she pursued professional makeup and hair styling courses. Her husband is a soldier in the U.S. Army and the tendency to relocate has allowed her the opportunity to learn trends from all over the country. She has performed hair and makeup services in Washington state, California, Colorado, Florida, South Carolina and Georgia. In addition to her freelance work, she has worked as a stylist in an upscale salon and spa in the heart of South Carolina that opened doors into the world of pageantry. She is educated in a variety of professional hair and makeup lines and an expert in airbrush makeup application. She loves to learn and embraces every opportunity she can to expand her knowledge in this industry. Her passion and excitement for what she does shows in her work and in her exceptional customer service.

Katelyn moved to the Savannah area from West Virginia in 2017. When she graduated high school, she decided to attend a Paul Mitchell school, where she discovered her love for formal hair styling. She received her cosmetology degree and was licensed in 2014. After school, she has continued her education by learning many updo tricks and styles, as well as attending several makeup workshops and one-on-one lessons to advance her makeup artistry. She has experience working both in the salon and with on-site clients for weddings, photo shoots, military balls and other formal events. She is very excited to be here in Savannah where she can continue her career as a Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist on our team!
